NETAVIS Observer Summit 2013 was a big success. After welcoming all the national and international guests CEO Wolfgang Baumgartner invited founding member, manager and developer of NETAVIS, József Lázár, up on stage to guide through the last 10 years of the IP-video industry and the history of NETAVIS together.
After humoristic details in the companies’ life and interesting moments of the development of NETAVIS Observer, Wolfgang Baumgartner discussed the course of IP Video industry in the upcoming 10 years. The main question will be how metadata derived from leading edge video analytics will lead to automatic real time actions according to the workflow of the end customer processes. Right before the first networking break, Thomas Rehberger, NETAVIS, introduced the latest highlights of Observer 4.4 and lab previews of the upcoming version 4.5 and invited the guests for personal hands on.

Harald Rätzsch, former CTO of Skidata, discussed limitations of current video management and analytics scenarios and showed examples, where video meta data successfully translate to real time actions by Caberra This intelligent workflow engine accelerates and improves proceedings at the end customers side and therefore adds value to existing video surveillance systems. After that, technology partners of NETAVIS Observer Summit 2013 introduced the latest developments in IP video technology and again invited to connect in the technology show and networking breaks.
The given information was reason enough to discuss lively over the business lunch and further breaks, share experience and know-how and check out highlights of AXIS, DELL, JVC and SONY.
Latest developments and features in upcoming NETAVIS Observer Versions were presented by Hartmann Schleifer, NETAVIS with details to the Roadmap of Observer 4.5 and 4.6 whilest László Dezsényi introduced brand new iCAT video analytics algorithms for the surveillance of highways. The project partner for iCAT Traffic (available in Observer 4.5), László Polivka from AGIS Fire & Security, described the valuable practical experiences from highway surveillance at M5 in Hungary by NETAVIS iCAT Traffic.

As final highlight of this year’s NETAVIS Observer Summit the NETAVIS Video Analytics Award 2013 was presented for the very first time. The jury was looking for the most interesting NETAVIS iCAT installation that showed creativity, know-how and that certain something. Christoph Lehner for System Integrator Linz AG Telekom was awarded with the price for smoothening public transport at a traffic bottleneck in the city centre of Linz by only one camera and NETAVIS iCAT. After this successful day the 10th anniversary of NETAVIS was celebrated exclusively in the Viennese Stadtpark Pavillion. With NETAVIS cocktails, delicious dinner and life music the party guests danced into the night. Thanks for the great fun we had with everybody celebrating!
