NETAVIS Observer is integrated in the central control system of one of the top five tallest buildings and efficiently manages its video surveillance.
The Abraj Al-Bait Towers is a mega tall building complex situated right next to the world's largest mosque and Islam's most sacred site, the Kaaba, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The buildings contain 7 five star hotels, a five-story shopping mall, hundreds of private apartments and a parking garage capable of holding over a thousand vehicles, and attracts millions of pilgrims travelling to the Hajj every year.
For their safety, 5.400 cameras are running on 118 servers, operated by up to 260 concurrent users. NETAVIS Observer governs the entire IP video installation. Security staff monitors the happening on video walls, and for any kind of incident, the corresponding recordings can serve as means of evidence thanks to the manipulation-safe and passwordprotected NETAVIS SAFE Export.
The customer highly benefits of Observer's high compliance with security and IT applications. Via SNAP XML and URL interfaces, NETAVIS Observer is integrated in the building complex's central control system and therefore interconnected with security and facility management applications like the alarm and fire system.
Another benefit of this installation is the unlimited scalability of NETAVIS Observer. Since 2010, when the Abraj Al-Bait Towers started with 45 cameras and 6 users, the project was developed to its current size in 77 steps. Even additional modules and features can be added any time with the simple exchange of a license key and therefore smoothly adaptable to customer specific requirements.
