NETAVIS, a manufacturer of a Linux-based video management software, is now starting a partnership with Milestone Systems, a world leading provider of open platform IP video management software (VMS). Therefore, NETAVIS will be storing and displaying data from the Milestone xProtect software in its own data warehouse.
Video management system beyond classic security technology
Today an IP video system can generate and store far more than just video data. Metadata, object data and much more is generated with modern IP video management systems and the appropriate video analytics in the background. The challenge nowadays is more on the visualization of this data. Users want simple and flexible views to easily access their current systems. This is where business intelligence is applied. Business Intelligence Solutions enable any data to be prepared and presented for easy decision making. As a result, video data can be used increasingly outside of typical security applications such as for retail marketing, logistics, industrial processes, and many more.
Data visualization in the NETAVIS sMart Data Warehouse
Based on the Milestone MIP SDK, NETAVIS has developed an integration for their sMart Data Warehouse. This makes automatied visualization of the data from the Milestone database possible. This visualization is provided through dashboards or predefined reports in predefined time periods. The sMart Data Warehouse can store and display all relevant data of the Milestone xProtect family. Examples include peoplecount or heatmaps, which can also be generated for large areas at the same time.
Security Essen
Initial solutions and integrations will be presented together by both companies at Security Essen, between 25.09 - 28.09 at the Milestone stand, located in Hall 5 with the number 5F10.
The Austrian business magazine „Report Plus“ published a fascinating article on Austria’s innovativeness for its July - August edition.
NETAVIS is excited to be among the four innovative companies in Austria focusing on digitalisation. The article illustrates how NETAVIS managed huge streams of visitors at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship in the summer of 2017 in Vienna. NETAVIS provided an IP-Video-Surveillance system to measure visitor frequency, manage the flows of visitors as well as to collect other important information, which was useful to our client for organising any future events.

NETAVIS Observer 4.8 is now out in its second version 4.8.1. NETAVIS proudly presents the second release in this product line: NETAVIS Observer 4.6.1. Enhancements in the module
iCAT NPR are the focus of this release, delivering an even preciser license plate recognition on the VMS server.
EMC² and NETAVIS Software have been working together successfully on several projects in the past. In addition to
providing a critical security tool, NETAVIS Software increasingly focuses on operational information and business intelligence.
Besides common bug-fixes, also the licensing for 360° cameras was significantly improved in the newest version of NETAVIS Observer 4.5.
The IP video management platform NETAVIS Observer is known for its exceptional open and flexible software
architecture. This grants customers as well as system integrators the highest degree of freedom and future security.
PRYSM and NETAVIS Software have been working in partnership since 2009 and have realized several large projects
deploying many thousands of cameras in the Middle East. Projects include airports, universities, hospitals, military
and government sites.
With the I/O Devide Administration available from NETAVIS Observer 4.6, adding I/O contacts from a broad set of
supported cameras and I/O devices is significantly simplified. Also the AXIS Network Video Door Station, a solution

While the report generally evolves around the role and influence of intelligent IP video survaillance during christmas shopping in the Czech Republic, they especially mention NETAVIS and iCAT as one of the state-of-the-art video analytics modules.
NETAVIS Observer 4.5 is out now in its fourth version 4.5.3! With many new video management features and an innovative set of seamlessly integrated iCAT traffic video analytics, this release offers new highlights in addition to all previous functionalities. Among them are the picture in picture archive access within the online monitor, a versatile live stream embedding in websites, an archive efficiency feature for improved utilisation of storage capacity, a generic RTSP driver enabling video streaming for many non-integrated cameras, a visual camera status overview and many more.
Canon Europe, world leader in imaging solutions and NETAVIS Software, pioneer in server-based IP video surveillance, announce working closely together to ensure compatibility and quality of service across the entire Canon network camera range. Canon and NETAVIS will collaborate in sales and technical development, enabling both organisations to successfully reach new customers, geographical regions and market sectors.
With the release of NETAVIS Observer 4.4 the context menu in the Online Monitor was enhanced by two features. One enables users to send PTZ cameras to predefined PTZ positions by selecting from the list at the top of the context menu (right click in view port of activated PTZ control camera, see left screenshot). The other one allows for direct archive access of the particular camera. By selecting the particular option the Archive Player replays the previous 10 minutes, 1 hour, 24 hours or 1 week immediately (see screenshot on the right). Both features improve the operator handling in case fast decisions are to be made.
NETAVIS hereby announces a shift in NETAVIS Distribution on the German market by March 2014. In the future, NETAVIS Software licenses will be available at our new distributor Ingram Micro Distribution GmbH.
On Tuesday, Jannuary 28th, the first NETAVIS Basic Training in the New Year took place at NETAVIS training room in Vienna. Contrary to other video management platforms on the market, every NETAVIS Observer bundled software package comes with a professional server operating system for free. The current versions of NETAVIS Observer 4.4 and the upcoming NETAVIS Observer 4.5 include CentOS 6.4.

The latest release of NETAVIS Observer 4.4.6 is available now! The video management platform with integrated video analytics allows for copying views to all windows of you as well as to all windows of another user now. Furthermore, capabilities in terms of assigning stream parameters to all viewports of a view are improved. 16:9 resolutions are covered and when adding a new camera to a viewport, the optimal video resolution will be selected based on aspect ratio and viewport size of Multi-MJPEG cameras.
