The software update focuses on comprehensive improvements on the system security and operations level. Observer 5.0 features higher face detection accuracy and simplified system installation. NETAVIS, a manufacturer of a Linux-based video management software, is now starting a partnership with Milestone Systems, a world leading provider of open platform IP video management software (VMS). Therefore, NETAVIS will be storing and displaying data from the Milestone xProtect software in its own data warehouse.
Video management system beyond classic security technology
Today an IP video system can generate and store far more than just video data. Metadata, object data and much more is generated with modern IP video management systems and the appropriate video analytics in the background. The challenge nowadays is more on the visualization of this data. Users want simple and flexible views to easily access their current systems. This is where business intelligence is applied. Business Intelligence Solutions enable any data to be prepared and presented for easy decision making. As a result, video data can be used increasingly outside of typical security applications such as for retail marketing, logistics, industrial processes, and many more.
Data visualization in the NETAVIS sMart Data Warehouse
Based on the Milestone MIP SDK, NETAVIS has developed an integration for their sMart Data Warehouse. This makes automatied visualization of the data from the Milestone database possible. This visualization is provided through dashboards or predefined reports in predefined time periods. The sMart Data Warehouse can store and display all relevant data of the Milestone xProtect family. Examples include peoplecount or heatmaps, which can also be generated for large areas at the same time.
Security Essen
Initial solutions and integrations will be presented together by both companies at Security Essen, between 25.09 - 28.09 at the Milestone stand, located in Hall 5 with the number 5F10.
The Austrian business magazine „Report Plus“ published a fascinating article on Austria’s innovativeness for its July - August edition.
NETAVIS is excited to be among the four innovative companies in Austria focusing on digitalisation. The article illustrates how NETAVIS managed huge streams of visitors at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship in the summer of 2017 in Vienna. NETAVIS provided an IP-Video-Surveillance system to measure visitor frequency, manage the flows of visitors as well as to collect other important information, which was useful to our client for organising any future events.

NETAVIS Observer 4.8 is now out in its second version 4.8.1. With an innovative set of video management and video analytics enhancements and features, Observer 4.8 offers new highlights in addition to all previous functionalities. Among them are the new Mobile Client for access of multi-camera live views and archive recordings on all mobile devices, an extension of the license less mode, as well as the integration of Hella 3D sensors for high accuracy counting for complex safety and business applications. The new Zone Monitoring and Queue Length Detection allows users to improve business process by monitoring zones and detecting queues. Scroll down for more details!
