NETAVIS Observer Summit 2016 - Thank you!

You can find a preview of the NETAVIS sMart Summit 2017 here.

Video Analytics improves the impact of IP-Video on physical security. It also provides data on business operations. Combined with related business information, real business value for customers can be generated. This year’s Observer Summit was designed to explore this topic together with our top partners in Europe and the Middle East. It was centred on three key themes:

2016 Summit Logo
  •     Providing results by IP-Video
  •     Video Analytics for Business Value
  •     Partner Empowerment for Business

Leading-edge business cases, key notes and priceless networking on our technology floor added to the live hands-on experience of NETAVIS solutions around NETAVIS Observer Video Management, iCAT Video Analytics and the brand new sMart Data Warehouse. During the technology show and the live workshops at the show floor, NETAVIS presented the newest features and highlights of the upcoming Observer 4.7.

Observer Video Management

NETVIS Observer is the open and flexible software platform for professional video management. It ensures highest compliance with CCTV and IT standards, best-in-class performance due to linux-based technology and unrivaled adaptability to customer requirements. NETAVIS Observer is available in four editions ranging from small single-server installations with professional functionalities to complex and large installations with various integrations and optional modules and interfaces

Importing and exporting large numbers of cameras will be possible with only a few clicks from Observer 4.7 on. The newly added Camera Import/Export enables system integrators to quickly add any number of cameras to a NETAVIS Observer system. The desired basic camera configuration can be prepared in Excel and then imported with a few clicks. Similarly it will be possible to easily export the cameras and their basic configuration from an already running NETAVIS Observer system.
In order to make installations easier and to improve hardware compliance, NETAVIS introduced a new one-step GUI installation from USB stick, DVD or network, based on CentOS7 and container technologies. It is the base for many new features and improvements like UEFI support. Both features are included in every NETAVIS Observer license from Observer 4.7 on.
The new Mobile & Browser Client is licensed per user and brings freely-definable multi-camera live views and access to archive playback to mobile devices of all sizes. The integrated transcoding ensures the display of H.264, MPEG-4, and MxPEG streams on all browsers and platforms.

iCAT Video Analytics

NETAVIS iCAT Video Analytics is seamlessly integrated in every Observer installation and summarises innovative own developments of NETAVIS Software and third party algorithms for special applications. Many optional iCAT modules solve challenges like perimeter security, number plate recognition, people counting and more. NETAVIS iCAT does not require extra server, extra software or extra licenses, also existing analogue CCTV infrastructure can be reused. iCAT modules can be activated anytime by change of NETAVIS license key

The highly innovative Dynamic Privacy Mask expands further upon the original NETAVIS Privacy Mask to provide optimal and dynamic privacy protection for customers and employees. Within a freely definable area all moving objects and people are dynamically detected and covered with a mask. Of course this Dynamic Privacy Mask can also be scheduled to be active only during certain times of the day or be deactivated manually, e.g. via a panic button in case of an incident.

The brand new Queue Length Detection is a feature built on the newly introduced Tracker X of iCAT Video Analytics. It automatically detects queues of people in front of checkout counters, information desks or similar locations. Upon reaching a previously configured threshold, Queue Line Detection creates an event which can be used as a trigger for speaker announcements, informing staff to open an additional counter, and many other processes.
Both of these innovative new features are already included in every iCAT license without additional price markup starting with Observer 4.7.

sMart Data Warehouse

NETAVIS sMart Data Warehouse is the innovative solution to visualize and contextualize video surveillance and video analytics data with security and business relevant data of other sources. sMart Data Warehouse transforms them real time and 24/7 into key performance indicators and provides information the way the customer needs it. This could be user specific dashboards, periodical PDF-reports, or business intelligence analysis tools. sMart Data Warehouse creates specific business value and is available as a cloud service or as a local software on the NETAVIS server. As it is integrated with Observer, sMart disposes of powerful interfaces to security and business applications. At the NETAVIS Observer Summit for example, iCAT Video Analytics was counting all incoming people with a single camera at the entrance, sMart then provided the accurate and user-friendly frequency and customer segmentation statistics live.
